Responsibilities:
- Providing structural engineering services and field support.
- Conducting preparation of designs and calculations.
- Conducting site walk downs of construction sites.
- Developing cost estimates and material takeoffs.
- Providing schedule and staffing input for projects.
- Producing and checking structural steel design calculations and drawings.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- 30+ years heavy industrial/power plant experience OR accredited bachelor's & master's degree in engineering AND professional engineering license.
- Detailed knowledge of structural steel and concrete design principles and industry methodologies.
- Significant structural steel connection design experience.
- Proficiency with structural codes and standards.
- Extensive knowledge of heavy industrial structures and components.
- Strong computer skills - proficiency with structural computer programs such as STAAD PRO.
- Proficiency with OSHA regulations.
- Able to coordinate and manage multiple large scale, multi-discipline projects.
- Able to perform structural inspections and provide written reports.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff, and/or vendors.
