Role description SEO Project Manager

Description of the main tasks:
Main professional tasks:
End-to-end execution of SEO initiatives
Lead SEO workstreams within digital projects such as website relaunches, CMS migrations and domain changes from requirements definition through to go-live and post-launch monitoring.
Own and drive the full SEO project lifecycle across all relevant teams and external partners.
Creation of SEO requirements and recommendations
Develop detailed, structured SEO requirements for developers, UX designers, content teams and project managers.
Translate strategic SEO guidelines into actionable briefings and documentation suitable for cross-functional implementation.
Stakeholder coordination
Coordinate internal teams (product, development, UX, content, brand, e-commerce) and external partners (agencies, freelancers, technology vendors) to align responsibilities, timelines and deliverables.
Act as the central SEO contact for all project-related queries and escalations.
Testing and quality assurance of SEO implementations
Validate SEO implementations including redirect checks, crawl analysis, structured data verification, indexation monitoring and Core Web Vitals assessments.
Document test results and coordinate remediation of identified issues with responsible teams.
SEO performance monitoring and reporting
Monitor and report on SEO KPIs for ongoing and completed initiatives.
Derive actionable insights from performance data and escalate strategic decisions where appropriate.
Operational SEO consulting for internal stakeholders
Advise internal teams on SEO best practices within the context of their specific projects and deliverables.
Support content, UX and development teams in understanding and applying SEO requirements correctly.
Secondary professional tasks:
Technical SEO audits: Conduct technical SEO audits as part of project preparation, identifying critical risks and opportunities prior to launch.
Keyword research and content gap analysis: Support SEO-driven content planning through targeted keyword research and competitor benchmarking.

Process documentation: Develop and maintain SEO checklists, implementation guides and process templates to ensure consistent quality across projects.
Project documentation: Maintain SEO project documentation and progress tracking to ensure full transparency for stakeholders and leadership.
CMS content management: Support content implementation in CMS platforms (e.g. guides, landing pages, category pages) where relevant to SEO initiatives.
