Job Description
We are currently interviewing a detail-oriented Property Accountant for a high-priority contract engagement in the Austin, Texas market. This role is critical in supporting our Austin-based portfolio during a period of active transition and year-end preparation. As a key member of their team, you will be utilizing Yardi Voyager to manage CAMS reconciliations, month end close, and portfolio commercial assets. Responsibilities
- Candidates must demonstrate advanced proficiency in real estate-specific ERP systems, particularly Yardi Voyager or MRI , which are the dominant platforms for Austin's major commercial and residential portfolios. This includes the ability to manage complex "month-end close" processes, record journal entries, and perform detailed bank and general ledger reconciliations.
- Given the current "buyer-friendly" shift in the Austin market, accountants must go beyond data entry to provide high-level financial analysis. This includes performing Budget vs. Actual (BVA) variance analysis to explain how rising inventory levels or shifting occupancy rates in neighborhoods like the Domain or East Austin are impacting the property’s Net Operating Income (NOI).
- Accuracy in reviewing lease data is critical, especially for Austin’s thriving tech and medical office sectors. Accountants must be skilled in calculating Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations and managing complex lease escalations to ensure all recoverable expenses are billed correctly to tenants in a more competitive leasing environment
