Job Summary

The Mobile Security Specialist is responsible for providing proactive security services across multiple client properties during overnight hours. Unlike a dedicated site assignment, this position requires traveling between numerous locations throughout the shift to perform scheduled patrols, respond to resident or client requests, secure amenities, and deter criminal activity through a visible presence. This is an active, fast-paced position requiring excellent time management, adaptability, and independent decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled security patrols at multiple client properties throughout each shift.
  • Drive a company vehicle between assigned locations while following designated patrol schedules and routes.
  • Perform a variety of security tasks at each property, including interior and exterior patrols, perimeter inspections, parking garage patrols, locking and unlocking amenities, securing common areas and facilities, and checking doors, gates, and access points.
  • Respond promptly to dispatch calls from residents, property managers, or clients while maintaining route efficiency.
  • Monitor properties for suspicious activity, safety hazards, maintenance concerns, and unauthorized persons.
  • Report incidents, emergencies, and unusual activity to supervisors and law enforcement when appropriate.
  • Complete detailed electronic reports documenting patrols, incidents, observations, and completed assignments.
  • Maintain a visible and professional presence to deter criminal activity and promote a safe environment.
  • Ensure all assigned patrol stops are completed accurately and thoroughly during each shift.
  • Operate company vehicles safely while complying with all traffic laws and company driving policies.
  • Protect company-issued equipment, property keys, access devices, and vehicles.
  • Maintain effective communication with dispatch, supervisors, and fellow Security Specialists throughout the shift.
  • Provide outstanding customer service while interacting with residents, visitors, contractors, and property management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (security training or certification preferred).
  • Current Denver Guard Card.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Previous security, military, law enforcement, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle throughout a 10+ hour overnight shift.
  • Ability to walk approximately 8–10 miles per shift, including climbing stairs and navigating parking structures.
  • Ability to repeatedly enter and exit a vehicle 20–30 times during a shift.
  • Strong observational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt quickly to changing situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must successfully pass background screening, drug screening, and motor vehicle record check.

Work Environment

  • Full-time overnight position.
  • Typical shifts begin around 7:00 PM and conclude after all scheduled patrols and dispatches have been completed.
  • Minimum shift length is 10 hours; shift end times may vary based on operational needs.
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors across multiple client locations.
  • Frequent driving between properties throughout the assigned patrol route.
  • Specialists typically complete 20–30 property visits each shift, spending approximately 10–15 minutes at each stop.
  • This position requires working outdoors, often in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to walk 7–10 miles per night.
  • Navigate stairways and parking garages on foot.
  • Shift work may be required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
