About the Resort
Set along the spectacular coastline of O‘ahu, our luxury resort delivers a refined five-star hospitality experience defined by ocean views, elevated service, and memorable celebrations. From destination weddings and milestone occasions to executive retreats and large corporate gatherings, our team is dedicated to creating seamless and extraordinary guest experiences in one of the world’s most beautiful settings.

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Director of Events to lead the strategic planning and flawless execution of all on-property events while maintaining the highest standards of luxury service.

Position Overview
The Director of Events serves as the strategic leader and operational head of the resort’s events division. This individual will oversee the full lifecycle of events — concept development, planning, coordination, and execution — ensuring every function reflects the resort’s brand, service culture, and commitment to excellence.

From intimate beachfront ceremonies to multi-day conferences, the Director will combine creative vision, strong leadership, and operational precision to deliver exceptional results and maximize guest satisfaction and event revenue.

Key Responsibilities:
Event Strategy & Planning:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive events strategy aligned with brand positioning and revenue goals.
  • Guide event concepts, timelines, and execution standards across all functions.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, coach, and develop event managers, coordinators, and support staff.
  • Foster a service-driven, collaborative team culture focused on excellence and accountability.

Client Relations:

  • Act as the primary contact for VIP and high-profile clients.
  • Translate client visions into well-organized, elevated experiences.

Vendor & Partner Management:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with local vendors, suppliers, and service partners.
  • Ensure quality, reliability, and smooth coordination for all functions.

Financial Oversight:

  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and event profitability.
  • Balance cost controls with luxury service standards.

On-Site Operations:

  • Oversee setup, execution, and post-event breakdown.
  • Address operational challenges in real time to ensure flawless delivery.

Innovation & Trends:

  • Introduce new ideas, technology, and event concepts to keep the resort competitive.
  • Maintain awareness of hospitality and luxury event trends.

Cross-Department Collaboration:

  • Partner with Food & Beverage, Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure consistency and success across all events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Event Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5+ years of Director of Events experience in a Forbes Five-Star luxury property.
  • Demonstrated success managing weddings, corporate programs, and high-profile social events.
  • Strong leadership and staff development abilities.
  • Excellent organization and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced luxury environment.
  • Proficiency with event planning systems and software.
  • Familiarity with Hawaiian culture, traditions, and local vendor community preferred.

Why Join
Enjoy the opportunity to work in a world-class luxury resort setting on O‘ahu while collaborating with a dedicated, service-driven hospitality team. This position offers a competitive compensation and bonus structure, along with relocation assistance and temporary housing. You’ll also benefit from strong career advancement potential within a premier, high-end hospitality environment.

If you are passionate about luxury hospitality and enjoy creating exceptional experiences that guests remember for a lifetime, this leadership role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a premier resort destination.
