Role Overview
Client is seeking an experienced Data Modeller to support the One Data Ecosystem (ECP) initiative. Due to a lack of internal competence within data modelling across ECP and Swedbank, a focused engagement with an external specialist is required. The assignment focuses on designing and documenting L2 and L3 data products optimized for modern cloud-based data platforms, aligned with the layered data architecture guidelines defined by the Swedbank Data Transformation Program.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver L2 (Logical) and L3 (Physical) data models in line with Swedbank layered data architecture standards
Design data products optimized for modern cloud-based data platforms
Ensure scalability, maintainability, and reusability of data models
Produce clear and comprehensive documentation for all delivered data models
Define and propose a governance process enabling continuous maintenance and development
Communicate data modelling concepts and outcomes to internal stakeholders
Ensure effective knowledge transfer to Swedbank resources
Required Technical Skills
Data Modelling
Conceptual, logical (L2), and physical (L3) data modelling
Dimensional modelling (star and snowflake schemas)
Normalized and denormalized data structures
Data product oriented modelling approaches
Ability to translate business requirements into technical data models
Cloud Data Architecture & Platforms
Designing data models for modern cloud-based data platforms
Hands-on exposure to Azure Data Lake (ADLS)
Experience working with Databricks and lakehouse architectures
Strong understanding of layered data architectures (raw, curated, consumption)
Awareness of performance, scalability, and cost considerations in cloud analytics platforms
Metadata, Documentation & Governance
Metadata modelling and structured documentation
Data lineage and traceability concepts
Data governance principles including ownership and stewardship
Defining sustainable processes for long-term model maintenance
Tools & Communication
Experience with enterprise data modelling and diagramming tools
Strong SQL knowledge to validate and reason about data models
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to explain complex data models to non-technical stakeholders
